Hello World!
Did it ever occur to you when buying organic products that it is not really sustainable to get corn, lens or any kind of seed from Canada, pate from Germany or tofu from Japan? To me it has. And I must say, that I would rather support local farmers than long transportation food chain. Concluding this thought I thought we could start making stores with products of local farmers, cut down the long transportation ways and rather organize door-to-door delivery once a week. I do understand there are things that can not be produced everywhere, but still, every new store with organic products has less local products to offer. It is rather sad.
Please, open your eyes and let me know how are things around the World.

by going organic and purchasing locally we cut down on global fuel costs, pesticide costs, shipping costs, etc. it's a no brainer...support your local farmers
exactly ;)
Mojca, for Slovenia that also means increasing the agricaltural land, as currently Slovenia is far below from able to sustain itself with food from local sources. It is an important task which politicians are trying to listen at least partly with the new law which is being proposed, that makes it a lot harder for local councils to transform agricultural pieces of land into inhabitable land.
Wonderfully informative site-thank you-Betty
